Day 1: Heading south of Quito through the avenue of the volcanoes we reach an authentic Indian market. Depending on the day we will visit a market at: Latacunga (Tuesday and Saturday), Pujili (Wednesday and Sunday) or Saquisili (Thursday). Afternoon at leisure to relax or enjoy the inn facilities. Overnight at either H. La Cienega or H. San Agustin.
Day 2: Morning tour to Cotopaxi National Park. At the park we visit Limpiopungo lake (paramo grasslands/ Ecuadorian equivalent of the arctic tundra), drive up to 15.000 ft and trek up to Padre Rivas mountain climbing refuge (11/2 hr). Stop for box lunch, walk to the glaciers and return to Quito.

This 400 + year-old hacienda near the base of the famous Cotopaxi volcano is spacious and caters to the international traveler that demands extra luxury. The walls are made of volcanic rock which have withstood countless tremors from its active volcanic neighbor.
Services/Facilities
The hacienda’s restaurant serves international cuisine. Other facilities include a chapel – mainly used for weddings, two seminar rooms, a bar, sports facilities and gardens. Among the activities available at La Cienega are: sport fishing, hikes, horseback riding.
